The tale of Samuel James Thatch

The Society “Beastiary”

Beastiary is often a term used to describe a collection of animals and monsters in a fictitious world.  Here at Tinker, however, we wish to spin it around and tell you about the soldiers of the secret army of The Society.

Shock Troops — the bulk of the Society grunt forces, shock troopers wear long, leather rawhide coats covering body armor.  The most astounding piece equipment in the shock troop arsenal is a helm equipped with a magnetic barrier designed to deflect projectiles and even some small blades.

Man Jacks — Man Jacks are elite infantry units that spend years learning how to harness the pneumatic suits that become hard wired into their nervous systems.  Powerful, fast, and unwavering — whether armed or hand to hand, one does not go into battle with a man jack.

Golems — Where as man jacks are hardwired into a suit, often losing their own will, the Golem is a steam powered titan that is driven by a man within its heavy metal frame.  During early tests, Golems had proven to be strong enough to lift trees straight from the ground as easily as one would slice through a tea biscuit.

Stormers — The primary troop transport system of the Society, Stormers are behemoths of the air.  Powered by gigantic turbines, stormers can reach tremendous heights, flying under a thick manufactured cover of smoke and exhaust to resemble inclement weather.  They have the carrying capacity to take an entire legion into battle with heavy armor, and are equipped with a bolt gun that when fully charged fires bolts of pure electricity through anything in front of it.
